C. Edward Sauer, Jr.

Dr. Eddy Sauer is a local product of the Amarillo area.  He graduated from Canyon High School in 1980 and then went on to receive a B.S. in chemistry from West Texas State University in 1983.  He entered Baylor College of Dentistry and obtained his dental degree in 1987.  He then returned home to Amarillo to practice Dentistry.

Dr. Eddy purchased the practice of Dr. Larry Schulz in 1987 and then also acquired the practice of Dr. Jim Rogers in 1992.  In 2003, Dr. Eddy and Dr. Scott merged their practices to form Shemen Dental Group, LLP.

Dr. Eddy has been active in the community as well as the dental profession.  He is a member of the American Dental Association, the Texas Dental Association, and the Panhandle District Dental Society where he has held various positions including President in 2001.  He is also a member of the Academy of General Dentistry, the Texas Academy of General Dentistry, and the Panhandle Academy of General Dentistry.  He is also a member of the Academy of Computerized Dentistry, The Baylor College of Dentistry Alumni Association, and the LD Pankey Alumni Association.  His community involvement includes the WTAMU Alumni Association board for several years as well as a member of the High Plains Kiwanis Club for several years.  His family was the ambassador family for March of Dimes in 1999.  He has also served in a Task Force for the Canyon Independent School District.

Dr. Eddy has continued to pursue excellence in dentistry, keeping current through continuing education.  he has received his Fellowship Award from the Academy of General Dentistry in 1995 whose requirements include 600 hours of continuing education.  He has also completed five continuums and several other courses from the Pankey Institute for Advanced Dental Education which is considered one of the leaders in excellence for continuing education.

In 2001, Dr. Eddy added computerized CAD/CAM dentistry to his practice.  The CEREC system by Sirona allows for highly aesthetic porcelain restorations to be created in the office on one appointment as opposed to the outdated two appointment traditional crown procedure.  He currently contracts with Patterson Dental to provide dentists and assistants training in CAD/CAM dentistry.

Dr. Eddy and his wife Tina have four beautiful daughters.  Danelle (20), a junior at Baylor University, Angela (11), Valerie (11), and Michelle (11).  That's right, triplets!  As Dr. Eddy says, "I am the King!".  The family worships at Trinity Fellowship Church, where they are involved in several ministries.  They also enjoy snow skiing, fishing, running, and just hanging out together.
